WEEKLY UPDATE // WEEK 4

Our class had a lot on the agenda for this week. We were introduced to a new assignment, reviewed the Launch Party progress, discussed ways we raise money for the event and ended the class with team bonding activities. Before we jump into the fun and games, let's talk Macker!

The new assignment we were given was to handout Gus Macker postcards to local businesses. Each student in the class is responsible for finding a business and leaving a stack of Macker postcards behind to help advertise for the tournament in May. Speaking of advertising, Chad Novak, the student in charge of the Launch Party, showed the class the final draft of the Launch Party flyer. Every student was given flyers to put up around Mount Pleasant and on campus to advertise for the Launch Party on February 20th, 2020.

T.O. went over ways our class raises money over the semester to make this event viable. Some of the ways we raise money are through court sponsorships, restaurant fundraisers, silent auction gifts, 50/50 raffle, and wristbands sold at the Launch Party. Combining a variety of fundraising methods not only helps fund the tournament but also helps promote and advertise our event.

And now for the fun and games! We spent the last half of the class doing team bonding activities. First, we played Rock, Paper, Scissor challenge that ended in a pretty intense battle. Then, we played Sharks & Minnows and finished our game of Snowball that we started in week one. Being apart of the Macker Family means we will be leaning on each other throughout the semester. Therefore, having a few laughs and letting loose allows us to feel more comfortable with one another. Tune in next week as we prep for the Launch Party coming up!
